Design For America Notre Dame

Built on the concept of human-centric design for local solutions, Design For America Notre Dame pairs student teams with local partners for semester projects based on “Design Thinking” methodology to give back.

Montaña de Luz
With a mission to empower children and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Honduras, Montaña de Luz reached out to DFA to find new ways to reach more potential donors. Upon research, surveying, and interviews we were able to identify some common “pain points” that were directly connected to their dated website. Identifying a distinct lack of connection with the organization and the users on their webpage, our team sought to use the Design Thinking process to protype a new website. After creating solid point of view statement we were able to ideate ways to rebrand the company to attract the donors that MDL sought to target. We then created low fidelity prototypes that lead to a full prototype that was professionally pitched to leaders of Montaña de Luz. A majority of these proposed changes were implemented to the current website.
